Private Norris' Original Headstone
Private Norris died of disease in 1861 while at Fort Lancaster,
TX. He was a private in Company F of the 2nd Regiment, Texas Mounted
Rifles commanded by Lt Col Baylor.
The first headstone below was likely the original headstone and
is still in place at his gravesite.
The second headstone was placed directly in front of the original
and was dedicated by members of Old
Fort Lancaster Frontier Garrison in Sept 2000.
